UGG Chronicles Ep.45 | Green Day - Poprocks and Coke So, this is one of those rare episodes where I just recorded this and am uploading it now. This is a song that transports me back to 2010, listening to this on the CD after school. Simpler times. Anyways, hope you like it! Recoded ~November ‘21

UGG Chronicles Ep.43 | Periphery - The Bad Thing Damn, I need to learn more metal. I have absolutely been in love with Periphery since their 2015 Juggernaut, and I’d wanted to do this song for a very long time. This is a practise clip I recorded while learning the song. UGG Chronicles Ep.41 | Taylor Swift - Love Story Okay, so this is something that I have legit been noodling on since 2010 (DMaj is one of my fav keys tho) and well, more than a decade later, I finally came around to recording it (partially, but still counts :P) This was recorded ~Oct ‘21

UGG Chronicles Ep.40 | Mayer Inspired Blues Improv - Darcy So, IGTV is dead, but UGG lives on.. I’ll try and follow the same format I did till (literally last week), and keep uploading videos to the series. Anyway, this particular piece, as the name suggests is an improv I did after listening to a lot of John Mayer. Maybe this can be something someday. This was recorded ~Feb ‘21

So, this is an amalgamation of 2 videos, the recent one being the county riff (which tbh I have been practising for a VERY long time) and it sounds amazing on the Tele! And the next is something which I often do while making coffee, drum using chopsticks! County riff was recorded ~ Aug ‘21 Chopstick Drumming was recorded ~Feb ‘20

So, Honestly, this doesn’t do the song much justice, but really, you do have to start somewhere. I can’t really express how much this means to me (easily in the top 5 for me).. anyways, this is a pretty decent practise clip. Will def record this properly someday (hopefully within this decade lol) Recorded ~ July ‘21

So, First off, 9-month mark.. Yayy. For this particular song, I really like the rhythm, and it’s fun to play it almost all over the neck. This particular recording was just me jamming out around midnight at home :P This was recorded ~ Aug ‘21

Okay, so first off, I really don’t recall why I am wearing that helmet xD and I also can’t recall if alcohol was involved or not lol Anyway, this is just something that came up when I was messing with the envelope filter on the amp. That’s always fun to do! This was recorded ~May ‘21

Okay, so this is probably where the whole “Hendrix/Mayer” style of playing actually materialised for me.. I’d taken this course by Jamie Harrison, and damn if it wasn’t one of the best things I did for my playing. It literally upped my guitar game xD (got like half of it to go through even now tho lol) Anyway, the whole thing is up on YouTube, with amazing vocals added on it as well (not mine!) and this was a practise session for the same. This was recorded ~Aug ‘20

Hey, This, for me was the intro to funk metal, and damn, it’s one of GNR’s really “out there songs”, which I am have been jamming to since like 2010 (I vividly recall buying the UYI II CD), and after many, many years, I am (kinda) able to play the main riff :P, so here’s one of my jam sessions. This was recorded ~ Feb ‘21

So, this is a throwback to the start of the pandemic, and well, more than that to my school years. It’s a subset of my cover of “But it rained” on YouTube, and well, one of the last videos I used my ol’ Ibanez. Recorded ~Apr ‘20

Okay, so this is something that I came up with while jamming one evening with the looper.. if I recall correctly, it’s a 1-6 or 2-6 (can’t validate as I have to rush now lol) But yeah, Ima need to do something with this idea later on for sure This was recorded ~Feb ‘21

Okay, Honestly, I’d got a slide as a birthday present in like 2012, when I was quite influenced by Derek Trucks.. only after like 8 years am I putting it to proper use. It’s quite challenging, and a lot of it is based on feel.. was quite nice to figure out “Mr. Blue”’s horns part on it. So, this is an amalgamation of 2 videos: 1. Mr. Blue slide practise: (recorded ~June ‘21) This was when I got the feel to do the best Bojack song, and I’m really pleased with how the end product turned out, you can watch it on my YouTube 2. Beggars n hangers on: (recorded ~Feb ‘20) Tbh, if it wasn’t clear, I was quite drunk there and it was mighty fun to make those sounds via the bottle hehe.

So, what to say about this.. classic solos (performed on electric cause the acoustic one got blocked on this platform) But anyways, this was during the month I was learning how to play Hotel Cali, and I am quite pleased with the end result (you can get a link to the drive video from my YouTube page) This particular one was played over a looped track in Bangalore. This was recorded ~May ‘21

So, this is an amalgamation of these three: - Happy Go-Jazz Lick (~Aug ‘20) - Standard Jazz Licks (~Oct ‘20) - Autumn Leaves (~Aug ‘20) Jazz is something that is something quite out of my comfort zone, and I wanna get into properly… and it really is quite challenging. Love the sound and vibe of it tho

Sooo, First off, this has to be one of the most “out there” GNR songs that exist. It’s complete rock n roll madness and I absolutely love it. Also, this comes at a time (like right now) where a lot of things are done for me before a big move, snd I can let my “hair down” This was recorded ~June ‘21

Hey, So this was kinda like a challenge I set myself, to figure this tune out by ear (most of it was a success, you can see the final result on my YouTube channel :P) But really, got to learn quite a bit via this piece, and Warren seeing the final cover was most I could as for! Okay, so this is something I sometimes play when I feel down, and apart from being a sweet, melodic tune to play (yep, was inspired my Myles’ acoustic take for the same) it makes me feels watched over, y’know, makes the valleys seem less arbitrary Recorded ~June ‘21

Imo, there is something really.. pure about this.. the simplicity of this, combined with the fact that there’s no ulterior motive than just making and sharing music (gaining subscribers, endorsements, “influencing”, changing your style to appeal to a broader audience, etc) all this, just makes this feel like a never-ending competition, and more often than not, it sucks out the simple and pure joy of music. To me, this piece by Josh Radnor (yes, Ted from HIMYM) exemplifies all this, and I find myself coming back to this time and again

Okay, So this is a cover of a song which I have been playing for years and years and years.. it reminds me of all the battle of bands that I have been to, and the sheer feel and power of this live is quite indescribable.. yes, I love my fair share of metal. Recorded in Apr ‘21

Okay, so this is one of those very simple, yet hits-you-hard songs.. “Human Design” was one of my most played albums of 2020.. Anyways, this is one of the prime examples of why you should not play drunk, but in any case, it was quite fun to do. Yes, it is just an unplugged Tele, did not have my hands on an acoustic at that time. Recorded in Mar ‘21

So, this tune is pretty much my default when someone asks me to play something. I remember learning this (damn, about a decade) ago, and well, it’s just muscle memory now.
